Green Bay Packers Offseason Transactions - 2026

March 8th: Left guard Aaron Banks and the Packers are agreeing to restructure his deal according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Banks was supposed to have a cap hit of $24.8 million, but it is now being reduced to approximately $12 million thanks to stretching out the money into the future years of his four-year, $77 million contract that he signed last offseason. This saves money for this year, but makes Banks, who has disappointed many fans this past season, even more money and makes his cap hits increase throughout the next few years.

March 8th: According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Green Bay are re-signing center Sean Rhyan to a three-year, $33 million deal, with it possibly reaching a max value of $39 million. While he has been one of our better centers in the past few years, this could be a huge overpay for someone who only played center for less than an entire season. The Packers are hoping he can develop as their future, full-time center for years to come considering the limited time he has spent at the position.

March 7th: Per Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated, the Packers are re-signing linebacker and one of their most important special teams players, Nick Niemann. It is a one-year deal, and is a solid signing by Green Bay, as they retain a player who gives it his all for the third phase of the game.

March 7th: Per Rapoport, the Packers are trading away their defensive tackle Colby Wooden in exchange for Indianapolis Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin, who will likely replace linebacker Quay Walker. Franklin has very high upside, as evidenced by the past few years, with the exception of last season. Meanwhile, the Packers are dumping Wooden, who has underperformed for several years. Green Bay won this trade by far.

March 4th: The team are re-signing restricted free agent running back Chris Brooks according to the agency that represents him, One West Sports Group. The deal is worth $4.85 million over two years. He played an important part for the team as their backup running back last year. He is a good pass protector when needed and has shown the ability to produce when on the field. This is a very underrated signing.
